Inventory Assistant

The Inventory Assistant is responsible for executing and improving daily inventory tasks under the guidance of the Inventory Manager on Duty in strict compliance of all state laws and standard operating procedures of The Apothecarium.


Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Execute service area preparations and store set up daily
  • Maintain suitable inventory levels throughout daily operation
  • Fulfill inventory requests from Patient Consultants and Team Leaders
  • Facilitate inventory communication between departments
  • Assist with the intake process by checking in deliveries against manifest & invoices to ensure accuracy
  • Assist with the data entry and regular maintenance of products and inventory levels in POS systems
  • Audit product data and product laboratory test results to ensure accuracy
  • Conduct daily, weekly and monthly cycled inventory audits
  • Execute and improve upon systems to minimize and manage loss
  • Maintain and cultivate a professional and positive relationship with our vendors
  • Ensure all inventory is received, secured and distributed appropriately
  • Execute processing, packing and labeling for products where final production occurs in house
  • Assist in troubleshooting inventory discrepancies through data analysis
  • Handle return & exchange logistics with consultants


Abilities and Skills:

  • Demonstrated passion to serve the medical cannabis community and local neighborhoods
  • Basic math skills
  • Working knowledge of cannabis products
  • Attention to detail and interest working with numbers
  • Enjoys repetitive tasks
  • Highly organized and able to complete assigned tasks with minimal supervision
  •  Familiarity with tradition retail inventory metrics: shrinkage, FIFO, etc
  • Possesses strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from Team Leaders, Patient Consultants, and other cross-functional team members
  • Collaborate effectively with peers, the business and other team members
  • High ethical standards and a positive and professional demeanor
  • Basic computer and information technology skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel)
  • Basic abilities in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign)


Required Education and Experience:

  • Prior retail inventory experience highly desirable
  • Prior retail experience (1 year minimum)
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in professional and life experience
  • Experience working in the medical cannabis industry highly desirable
  • Experience working in the health & wellness industry highly desirable
  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • Must have a Medical Cannabis Recommendation
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check
